At the Rome Film Festival the presentation of the “Puffins” web series featuring Johnny Depp

October 20, 2021

The project demonstrates the success of the company’s business model, based on the exploitation of Intellectual Properties

ILBE (Iervolino and Lady Bacardi Entertainment), engaged in the production of cinematographic and television content for the international market and listed on the AIM Italia stock exchange, presented Puffins at the Rome Film Festival, a web series created thanks to the exploitation of Intellectual Properties (IP) from the film Arctic Justice, from which ILBE acquired the IP of eight characters.

The presentation of the series as part of Alice in the City – a section of the Rome Film Festival dedicated to young generations from 14 to 24 October – took place in the presence of Hollywood star Johnny Depp, who was chosen as a special spokesperson. In fact, Puffins recounts the adventures of Johnny Puff, an Atlantic puffin to which Johnny Depp has lent his voice, physical appearance and character.

Together with Puffins, thanks to the IP of Arctic Justice, ILBE has also created Arctic Friends. Both are web animated series for children, with a total of 380 episodes lasting about five minutes each, of which 320 have already been made. The 60 missing episodes, all belonging to the Puffins series, will be completed by 2021.

The result of more than four years of work, the two projects – entirely Made in Italy – feature the efforts of 160 Italian professionals (including 46 screenwriters and 108 storyboard artists), among which, moreover, there is a substantial gender equality.

The episodes, characterised by an extremely competitive cost in the field of animated productions, are available in 85 countries on Apple TV, where both series ranked first during the first week of screening. The Puffins series is also available on Amazon Prime Video in Italy, United Kingdom and USA.
