Le mura di Bergamo in movie theaters from March 23

Le Mura di Bergamo, a documentary film produced by Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment with Rai Cinema and directed by Stefano Savona, will be released in movie theaters March 23 distributed by Fandango;
The film recounts the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy and, in particular, the story of Bergamo during the most dramatic period.

Rome, March 17, 2023 – Presented as a world premiere at the 73rd. Berlin International Film Festival, Le Mura di Bergamo by Stefano Savona will be available from March 23 in movie theaters throughout Italy. The film, produced by Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment with Rai Cinema, is distributed by Fandango.

The film also involved Danny Biancardi, Sebastiano Caceffo, Alessandro Drudi, Silvia Miola, Virginia Nardelli, Benedetta Valabrega, and Marta Violante and chronicles the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy, particularly in Bergamo, the city symbolic of the first months of the contagion.

Through unpublished images and stories from witnesses who experienced that dramatic period firsthand, the docufilm traces the history of Bergamo and the courage of its inhabitants.

SYNOPSIS

Le Mura di Bergamo is a film that recounts the first months of the pandemic and makes connections between memory and the future, to accompany this collective, along the first stages of the patient work of recomposing the intimate, familial and social fabric that the pandemic has torn apart.

The protagonist of this story is the city, a social body that, like any living organism, consists first and foremost of the infinite connections between its parts. The words, looks, gestures, and silences that this narrative bears witness to are an attempt to account for some of these connections, with the hope that, by making them visible, the cinematic narrative can help consolidate them.
