Pioneering “short” animated series for Tik Tok generations coming soon

September 5, 2022

ILBE (Iervolino and Lady Bacardi Entertainment), a company active in the production of film and television content (Euronext Growth Milan – IT0005380602 – IE and Euronext Growth Paris – IT0005380602 – ALIE), announces the production of new and innovative short contents designed specifically to meet the needs of new generations increasingly accustomed to the very short duration of clips due to the exponential growth of new video reel formats of social networks such as Tik Tok and Instagram.

The world distribution rights for the three projects of 100 episodes each were sold by ILBE to The Wonderfilm Media Corporation for a total of 17.1 million euros to be realized between the current and next fiscal year. In addition, ILBE will handle distribution in Italy. Wonderfilm is a new client and a leading U.S. entertainment company with offices located in Hollywood and London. It focuses mainly on producing high-quality feature films and TV series geared toward the international market. The new series, which will be available from the end of the second quarter of 2023, will contain 60 seconds episodes and will feature likeable characters from the spin-off series of the animated film Arctic Dogs.

Andrea Iervolino, President and CEO of ILBE, says: “Anticipating industry players, ILBE’s push for innovation continues. After having
believed in and invested in the innovative format of short content, ILBE proposes to bring disruptive content to digital platforms designed
specifically to meet the needs of today’s consumers, who increasingly demand greater speed of use and immediacy. In addition, the collaboration with Wonderfilm represents further confirmation of the company’s avant-garde vision and ILBE’s commitment to creating ‘Made in Italy’ products for an increasingly demanding international market.”

Bret Saxon and Jeff Bowler of Wonderfilm add, “Consumers are always more interested in short-form mobile content, and the growth of time
spent consuming entertainment in that format has grown exponentially. Viewers under 34 are already spending much more time on their
smartphones than watching television. We believe ILBE’s new signature project takes perfect advantage of current viewer habits with production and outstanding storytelling. We couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with the entire ILBE team on these productions.”

The innovation of the new content will be even more disruptive, with features designed specifically for digital platforms. First, the length of
the episodes is shorter and the video format, square or vertical, is also better suited to the screens of mobile devices. The episodes of the new
animated series will have the same kind of usability as the content shared among social network users. These contents are aiming at meeting the needs of the new generations who, thanks to Tik Tok videos and Instagram reels, are in the habit of enjoying content faster and faster always more often.

There will be three series initially distributed: Super Impossible follows the adventures of four superhero Puffins helped by their mentor Johnny Puff to defend the city of Taigasville from the evil walrus Otto Von Valrus; Swifty recounts the adventures of the eponymous fox
protagonist, who with the seraphic and placid polar bear PB and the cunning and ingenious red fox Jade find themselves protagonists in a
series of exciting and entertaining stories; finally, Mini Puffins takes viewers to the Arctic with the four Puffins protagonists, Johnny Puff and
the lighthearted and funny otters Bertha and Leopold. The content aims to entertain and excite young audiences through lightness and comedy, without forgetting themes and values such as solidarity, friendship and respect for the environment.
